Last weekend I had my first ride in a Point to Point event, it was a huge adrenaline rush. I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous; I don’t normally suffer with nerves while eventing so this was all very new for me. Thankfully it all went to plan and we finished 5th, it really was so much fun. It’s a great feeling to finish the race full of energy as I was so panicked I hadn’t done enough training for the event. The horse was amazing, he couldn’t have jumped better. I cannot wait until the next Point to Point event, especially as I’m now full of confidence ready to share my competitive side next time.

The event horses are feeing fantastic and they start eventing towards the end of February, as long as the weather holds up. I recently went to some incredible training with Amy Woodhead, who is one of the best dressage riders in the UK, it was brilliant to come home full of new ideas ready to put into practice. Not only does it develop my riding & way of training the horses but it also helps me come up with new ideas in terms of my coaching too. Double win!

By the time of my next blog I’ll hopefully been back out eventing! Very excited already.
